Cosmetic Lip Enhancement

Some people are born with naturally thin lips, while others notice their lips thinning with age – most noticeably the ‘cupid’s bow’ or ‘V’ shaped indentation in the top lip can begin to lose definition and the vermillion boarder of the lip can begin to fade and breakdown.

A number of different treatments involving carefully placed fillers can reverse the thinning look or rebuild the vermillion boarder with instantaneous results. Fuller lips, a stronger and more defined lip boarder and even turning the corners of the mouth upward are all achievable with non-invasive Lip Enhancement treatments.

What does treatment involve and how long will it last?

There are few side effects to Lip Enhancement treatments. Most products include a local anaesthetic, but as the lips are one of our most sensitive parts of the body we usually apply further numbing with cream or ice before applying the injectable treatment. It takes around 8 to 10 small injections over a half hour appointment followed by massaging of the lips to ensure a smooth appearance which is instantly noticeable, as with all filler treatments. Occasionally some swelling and sensitivity can occur after treatment but this is treatable with ice and typically lasts no more than a week. Results last for around 6 months (dependant on the product used) and ‘top-up’ treatments may last a little longer.

How do Lip Enhancement treatments work?

Collagen is injected into strategic points along the lip to provide a plump, fuller appearance; to strengthen the boarder of the lips, or both. This replaces the collagen that is naturally lost during aging with immediate results. Lip Enhancement treatment is the perfect complement to teeth whitening and straightening, providing you with the perfect pout to compliment a dazzling smile.

A full consultation and assessment will be carried out before treatment so that our experienced practitioners are able to recommend the best products and treatment to achieve the results you are looking for.
